Club update:

Unfortunately, due to unfair, and unsustainable price increases imposed on us by the sports club, the tennis club is no longer able to continue operating.
As a result, we will be closing our gates on 31/03/2025.
We thank all our members, past and present for their support and we will see what the future holds.

For coaching enquires, please see contact details below.

More Detail:

All our junior courses are taught by qualified and licensed LTA tennis coaches. Players will learn a variety of tennis skills including technique, tactics, movement and match play. The classes are delivered in a fun and dynamic manner and will give our young players a great sport for life to play!

Our Junior program runs in term time throughout the entire year, so to book on and join the team, simply choose the session below which fits the age of your child.

All our junior courses closely follow the newly designed LTA Youth Programme launched in 2021.

Children will learn a variety of tennis skills including technique development, tactical awareness, specific tennis movements through drills and warm-ups and match play/game situations. The classes are delivered in a fun and dynamic manner, but please note the following:

Important Foreword:

All of our academy sessions are designed to teach our children how to play tennis. We welcome whole-heartedly children who have never picked up a racquet and hope to set them off and guide them on a journey to become the best versions of themselves that they can be. We believe strongly in a wholesome and rounded approach to learning and feel our goal is not just to teach tennis, but the wider,  valuable life-skills such as honesty, teamwork, perseverance, focus, kindness and respect of your peers and elders along the way. We kindly ask that as parents and guardians,  you respect and echo our values and recognise that we don't profess to be, nor do we wish to be used as a childcare service. By signing up your children, you recognise and are supportive of our coaching model and our values and principles of coaching and help  to shape your children's experience when they attend with us. With that in mind,  please ensure your children are briefed on our lesson structure below. Thank you for your understanding and support.

LESSON STRUCTURE:

- A dynamic series of warm-ups (5-10 mins)

- Technical element/focus of the week (15 mins with demonstrations and basket drills)

- Technical, tactical, and psychological development (15 mins). Open hitting in pairs or 4's, both with and without a coach present practising the specific technical skill of the week and applying it to game-situations.

- Game-based play (15 mins)

- Cool down (5 mins)

Please note:  Although we’ve assigned ages to each stage these are just a guide. We’ll always put children in the relevant group based on their ability, so please only sign up to the class relevant to their age category initially.

Thank you!

BLUE STAGE:

AGES 4-6 COMPLETE BEGINNER

"LEARN THE BASICS"...

MONDAYS 4 - 4.30pm (Parent accompanied)

(COURT 1)

Young kids are bundles of energy just running around without a care in the world! With that in mind, this programme is designed to finesse their fine motor skills like balance, agility and coordination. At this stage it’s not about winning or losing but just getting to grips with the basics.

RED STAGE:

AGES 6-8 - 5 YEAR OLDS WHO HAVE PLAYED MAY ATTEND RED VS BLUE STAGE

"SERVE, RALLY AND SCORE"...

MONDAYS: 4.30 - 5.30pm

(COURT 1)

This looks a bit more like the tennis you know; overarm serves, rallies, scoring. Kids can use their new knowledge to play in competitions as teams or individuals. It’s still soft balls and small courts but they’re learning everything they’ll need for the game ahead.

All the skills they’ve been learning are turning them into Tennis Titans! Time to throw in some tactics, extra techniques, problem-solving and leadership exercises too; they’re becoming Mini Andy Murray's and Emma Raducanu's before your very eyes!
